This past weekend I went to a retreat with my college group, New Format. We do this annually and this year we went to a beautiful house in Jamul, CA.
The point of the whole retreat is exactly what you would expect: to retreat.
Throughout the year we are broken into groups with whom we meet once a week in the hopes of pursuing deeper community, connection and accountability. For the record, I feel like I’ve been blessed with an amazing group of guys in my particular small group. They’re quickly becoming some of my closest friends, which doesn’t always happen when you throw a bunch of random guys together.
Anyways, we met up on Friday night, spent the night together and then went up to the retreat house on Saturday morning.
In short, the retreat was exactly what I needed. God spoke to me in some very intimate and sometimes hard ways, but I left feeling rested. I left feeling renewed. I left with hope. I left closer to my guys. I left alive.
I cant wait until next year’s!
